Born and educated in Jerusalem,Tuma Hazou joined BBC Arabic Services in London, worked as a Radio and TV Journalist, Filmmaker in Jordan, contributing to the BBC, UPI, ABC, and Special advisor to Prince Hassan, then Crown Prince of Jordan. Tuma Hazou was formerly Chief of Information and External Relations at UNICEFs regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa in Amman. First Broadcast June 2010.

The first series from 2022 is a community-led collaboration in partnership with Belong Aotearoa, Sport Waitākere and Storyo, hosted by Elina Ashimbayeva. The second series from 2025 focuses on the employment experience of lived experts and was made with funding from the J R McKenzie Trust.
